This whole year so far has been a step of faith. Living on campus with my closest friends off campus, living in Pomfret at the bottom of the hill (when I lived at the top of the hill last year), committing to leading a Bible study by myself (normally you have a co-leader), etc. But I knew that God called me to it, and He is bringing everything around.
Tonight was my first official meeting of our community group. I had seven girls there, all of whom live in my dorm. Seven is a good size. We hung out, ate Stoby's cheese dip (thank goodness you can buy it at Wal*Mart!), and got to know each other. We talked about what we would study this next year, starting off with James. But the biggest thing that I think they got out of it was finding people to hang out with and eat with! A group of us are eating lunch together tomorrow, and a lot of them wanted me to let them know whenever I go to dinner because they have had a hard time finding people to eat with. So that is really awesome-we are already bonding! Last year, the girls in my Bible study became my best friends, and I am hoping that is what happens with this group.
So I am gaining friends in Pomfret. And God has given me such JOY from all of this! I can't praise Him enough for where He is bringing me and how He continues to grow me.

Sam, it is so encouraging to read your journal and know that other people battle with/are blessed with the same situations I've been in or am going through.
Stoby's cheesedip = amazing.
Finding people to eat with can be an issue, and eating alone is (usually) no fun, so that's awesome that they've found people to eat with through your bible study. It's the little things that count. :)
Oh, and I can't believe you have my xanga posted on here. Ew. I'm almost ashamed of some the more recent stuff in there.
