pardon me if I gush for a moment

This blog generally stays on the spiritual side of things in my life, or the moments of feeling like I am growing up, but I had an urge to mention my boyfriend, who has been such a huge blessing to me over the past few months. God has been so faithful in our relationship, and He is using it to teach me more about Himself - and to provide more opportunities to bring Him glory, as I pray that we are an example of a Godly relationship for those around us.

About a month ago, Eric told me that he was hoping to help me like winter more this year. And, although I would still prefer shorts-and-a-t-shirt-weather any day, I definitely have enjoyed it more this year.

Reason #1: building a fire in the fireplace. It's definitely one of my favorite things. I love the way the wood crackles and the flames dance around the wood. And the way it smells.

Reason #2: ice skating at an outdoor rink in Kansas City. We went to a roller skating function for BYX last fall, and let's just say that roller skating isn't something Eric excels at. [Lucky for him, it's not a deal-breaker in our relationship :) ] However, neither of us fell on the ice - this shot was taken at the closest call, though:


Reason #3: snow day fun in Fayetteville! ...except I was setting the camera timer and running to get to him in time, and as I turned to smile at the camera, he threw a handful of snow in my face! This is the resulting picture:
