Becoming More Than Rubies

**Current music obsession: Jimmy Needham. I got his first CD, "Speak", on Sunday when I got home from camp, and have listened to it at least nine times in the past few days. The parts where the harmonica comes in make me happy. Then, today, I found his other CD ("Not Without Love") for only $7 at Walmart. Score!

I am so excited! I am starting another blog called Becoming More Than Rubies, and it is kind of my thoughts on becoming a woman of God starting in high school. I was talking to a lot of my older campers over the summer, discussing how to live differently than everyone else in their public schools or how to overcome things that were tripping their friends up. We talked about Proverbs 31 but how it was hard for them to apply to their lives, so I told them that I would work on translating it into their lives... and thus is birthing my blog for them! It will start out with my thoughts on Proverbs 31 for their lives and will continue on into other issues that we talked about over the summer or that I wish I had known back then. I am really excited about this, but it means that less time might be devoted to this blog. Sorry! But we will see once school starts how things continue to go. 

I am so excited to add this year-round facet to my ministry with these girls. I had some of the most amazing high school girls in my cabin, and it's so incredible to see the influence God has given me with them and the wisdom I can share from my own life. If any of you ever pop over to read it and have suggestions or advice or wisdom, feel free to let me know, as I do not claim to be any sort of authority on every issue :)
