Dorm Pros and Cons

Pros
  • There are ALWAYS people around
  • You can walk to the cafeteria in your pajamas - no effort really needed
  • You rarely have to eat alone - you eat with your group of friends and have "family dinner"
  • You don't have to clean your own bathroom or kitchen
  • You are right on campus if you need to do anything
  • You can wake up 15 minutes before class and still make it on time
  • It is a somewhat necessary college experience and can be a lot of fun.

Cons
  • You have to share a bathroom with 10 other people, plus any random strangers that are around.
  • You have to wear flip flops in the shower
  • You don't have a kitchen to cook in, especially necessary when the cafeteria is not great.
  • People think that they can make stuff come out of the vending machine by shaking it - this causes a loud noise and is annoying (and was the reason for starting this list).
  • The doors beep if they are held open too long for security reasons. Security is great, but not when the door is broken and won't shut all the way on its own. Then you get woken up multiple times in the middle of the night by incessant beeping that lasts for like 10 minutes at a time (and this also happened this week).
  • You have a very small amount of space.
  • You get woken up in the middle of the night by people being loud and possibly drunk.
  • You can hear the loudness of frat parties (I am NOT looking forward to Row Week in April).
  • (I could go on if I think about it, but that might get boring).

All in all, I have experience the dorm for almost two years and have appreciated it but will be thankful to move off campus next year.

Now, I am off to take a shower in my flip flops then walk down the hall in a towel, hoping that no boy decides to walk down my hall at the same time, because that gets awkward.
