Sew Good!

After collecting dust for the past few years, my sewing machine is back out and being used! My sewing skills are a little rusty, but I have been motivated by my friend EA to pick it back up (she sews as well, although she makes it up as she goes along whereas I have taken actual sewing classes and been trained in how to do things).

I was at Wal*Mart today and saw this glorious green "costume satin" for only $2 a yard. I love green. So I bought some, intending to make a skirt. As I put the finishing touches on it, though, it didn't really swing out like I wanted it to. I was taking it off by bringing it over my head when I noticed that it kind of looked like a shirt. So add some straps and voila! I have a green satin shirt!

Now I need to go back and buy more fabric... I still really want a skirt that I can twirl in.

Wow, sewing clothes--you're brave! I occasionally sew "straight" things like pillows and curtains, but I've never tackled clothes. I like the green fabric!
