Imagination Run Wild

I am completely lost in reverie due to this book. I love rereading it over and over... it just hits my heart. I don't understand how anyone could read it without feeling the same way.

“Why must people kneel down to pray? If I really wanted to pray I’ll tell you what I’d do. I’d go out into a great big field all alone or into the deep, deep woods, and I’d look up into the sky—up-up-up—into that lovely blue sky that looks as if there was no end to its blueness. And then I’d just feel a prayer.”

“[Courting] must be rather interesting, don’t you think, Matthew? Ruby Gillis says when she grows up she’s going to have ever so many beaus on the string and have them all crazy about her; but I think that would be too exciting. I’d rather have just one in his right mind.”

“After all, I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

“If the real Prince Charming was never to come she would none of a substitute.”
